Packaging of Tungsten Wire

CTIA’s delivery experience shows tungsten wire packaging should match product form, dimensions, and application to ensure transport safety and handling efficiency.

For coiled tungsten wire, including fine continuous wire, metal spools or high-strength plastic reels are used with controlled tension and orderly winding to prevent loosening, tangling, and stress; sealed or vacuum packaging minimizes contamination and moisture, while reinforced reels and interlayers protect larger coils from compression and deformation.

For straight or cut-to-length tungsten wire, rigid tubes, slotted supports, or customized boxes are applied to maintain straightness during transport, with end protection to reduce impact risk.

For shaped tungsten wire, including helical wire, U-shaped wire, zigzag wire, spiral coils, straight wire, and frame-type components, packaging focuses on shape retention and structural fixation. Helical wire is supported by mandrels or internal supports to prevent pitch deformation, while bent or frame structures are secured using slotted trays or customized fixtures to avoid contact and compression. Small or complex components are typically packed in compartmentalized boxes for isolation.

Depending on purity and application requirements, packaging options include sealed packaging, vacuum packaging, or inert gas protection to control oxidation and moisture. For high surface quality requirements, clean materials or anti-static packaging are used to reduce particle contamination.

Outer packaging typically consists of cartons, wooden crates, or composite structures with cushioning materials such as Expanded Polyethylene (EPE) to enhance impact resistance. Complete labeling, including specifications, batch number, and weight, supports transportation, storage, and traceability.
